Product Description
MAHLE EmissionPRO Petrol Emissions Tester
EmissionPRO® BMU 688
The BMU 688 gas analyser can work both statically and dynamically, by sampling emissions at the exhaust pipe using the supplied probe designed for this purpose. With the intuitive operator panel, users have all the functions of the exhaust gas analyser at their fingertips, and can easily swap from independent measurements to the legally specified test. The BMU 688 features six backlit LCD units, which display the readings of ongoing tests. When analysis is complete, the user can print out the test result straight away or send it to a connected computer.
This BMU 688 can work stand alone without a laptop or PC thanks to the built in display and printer, but if the user wishes it can also be viewed via a laptop or PC with specail software,
Pneumatic assembly:
The integrated condensate separator is drop-forged to prevent any hindrance to the gas flow and reduce maintenance times. Its special design facilitates the continuous drainage of condensate that forms in the separator. The separation filter has two parts: a net filter and a coalescing filter. In addition to the gas and air inlet for the autozero phase, the BMU 688 also features another special inlet for calibration using a gas sample cylinder. The rear side of the unit features connections for the supply, for measuring revolutions and temperature either wired or wirelessly, and a wired or wireless connection to a PC.
Advantages at a glance
- The optional RPM counter is incorportaed via an induction clamp, capacitive clamp or optional wireless module RMU 300 (via bluetooth).
- Connection to a PC can be Serial, USB or Bluetooth (BT-100 optional).
- If the workshop wants to add a opacimter the BMU 688 enables connection to the opacimeter via the OMNIBUS port. In this case, the gas analyser can display the smoke density readings from the DMU300 opacimeter for diesel engines.
- Emissions are sampled at the exhaust pipe using the specially designed probe. With the intuitive interface users can easily switch between modes, i.e. from independent measurements to a legally specified test. The BMU 688 features six backlit LCD displays, clearly showing the readings of ongoing tests. When analysis is complete, the user can directly print out the test results or optional send them to a connected computer. The integrated condensate separator is designed to prevent an obstacle in the gas flow and reduces maintenance costs. In addition to the gas and air inlet for the autozero phase, the BMU 688 also features a special inlet for calibration using a gas sample cylinder.
- The rear side of the unit has connections for the power supply, for RPM and temperature probes, which can either in wired or wireless mode communicate to the PC.

General
We at Ryan’s automotive pride ourselves on the support we give with the products we sell,
As we believe that selling the product to the customer is only the 1st step and that ongoing support is very important so the customer can get good value from his equipment,
We are also in a great position to support these products as we use them in our own workshop,
Support and after sales service can sometimes be a very loosely used terms and it is not always clear what the supplier is committing to this is why we want to explain as clearly as possible what both parties are committing to,
All of the below is based on units sold in Ireland (32 counties) and for outside Ireland it is not possible to provide all of the below support and after sales in the same forms for example loaner units calling on site etc so please enquire for more information if you are based outside of Ireland
