Key specifications
- High voltage differential input range to 800 V
- 10 bit resolution, 0.3 % DC vertical accuracy, 0.2 % typical
- Up to 100 MSa/s sampling, 50 MHz bandwidth
- Up to 10 MSa/s, 10 bit continuous streaming
- Up to 1 MSamples memory
The Handyprobe HP3 combines a fast sampling up to 100 MSa/s with a high voltage input range of 800 V and a differential input in a small and light enclosure. Powered only by USB, this versatile high voltage USB scope enables safely measuring high voltages anywhere in the field.
Differential input
The Handyprobe HP3 is equipped with a high voltage differential input with a maximum input range of 800 V DC (566 V RMS). Because of the differential input, it is not possible to create a short circuit to ground through the usb oscilloscope. The high voltage input range makes it possible to use the Handyprobe HP3 without additional attenuators.
Fast streaming
The advanced driver technology makes it possible to measure a continuous stream of data from the Handyprobe HP3 high voltage oscilloscope to the computer, at a maximum rate of 10 MSamples/s. The maximum measuring time is only limited by the available space on the hard drive. The high sampling rate makes it possible to capture short events with high accuracy. It is also possible to monitor e.g. the line power with the Handyprobe HP3 high voltage oscilloscope for a very long time and afterwards view and analyze each cycle of the signal thoroughly.
Low noise measuring lead
The input of the Handyprobe HP3 high voltage oscilloscope is differential, which means that both sides of the input have a high impedance. There is no connection to ground as in conventional oscilloscopes which are used with coax cables and standard oscilloscope probes.
The special low noise Measure lead TP-C812A is developed for the Handyprobe HP3 high voltage oscilloscope. It is very insensitive to external interfering signals. The two ends can be placed up to two meters apart, while picking up very little interference. With a conventional oscilloscope with standard oscilloscope probes this is not possible. The maximum distance between the positive side and ground of a standard oscilloscope probe is usually limited to approximately 20 cm. The Measure lead TP-C812A for the Handyprobe HP3 high voltage oscilloscope does not have this limitation. Measuring between two distant points is now no problem anymore. The Measure lead TP-C812A uses a heat resistant silicone isolation and shrouded banana plugs.
Versatile Multi Channel oscilloscope software
The Handyprobe HP3 is delivered with the versatile Multi Channel oscilloscope software, which transforms the Handyprobe HP3 into an oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, data logger, multimeter and protocol analyzer.
Touchscreen friendly toolbars
An oscilloscope toolbar and channel toolbars are available for each detected Handyscope. The convenient toolbars provide clear buttons for all settings of the oscilloscope and its channels. They show the current settings of the oscilloscope and allow to change all settings. The large buttons are very suitable for touchscreen operation.
The toolbars are fully configurable through the program settings. You can set the button size, add or remove buttons and change the order of the buttons.
Flexible signal displays
The Multi Channel oscilloscope software scope, spectrum analyzer and datalogger offer an ultimately flexible way to display all aspects of the measured signals. They can have one or more graphs, each displaying one or more signals, where each graph can display different parts of a signal. Graphs can display the signal(s) of your Handyscope in Yt mode, in XY mode or as frequency spectrum, with or without interpolation. Colors of all items in a graph can be set to any required value. Graph dimensions can be adjusted to any required size, graphs can be located in one single window or in separate windows, which can be located anywhere on the desktop.
Many automatic measurements
The Multi Channel oscilloscope software features many automatic measurements, that can be performed on the measured signals of your Handyscope or on a selection of the measured signals. Using the automatic measurements in the oscilloscope, any detail of your signal is revealed. Two sets of cursors, both horizontal and vertical, can be used to indicate a part of the signal that needs to be examined thoroughly. The automatic measurements include e.g.: Mininum, Maximum, Top-Bottom, RMS, Mean, Variance, Standard deviation, Frequency.
The measurement results are shown in a special value window that can be positioned anywhere on your computer screen. A convenient toolbar allows you to enable or disable a measurement with a single click. The measurement results can be copied to the clipboard e.g. to use them in reports. When printing the graphs, the cursors and measurements results are also included.
24/7 Data logging
Measuring long term signal changes with your Handyscope is done with the Multi Channel oscilloscope software Data logger. The data logger logs your signal, continuously uninterrupted at high speed, 24 hour a day, 7 days a week. Results are immediately shown on the screen and all data can be stored to disk. A convenient toolbar lets you navigate through the stored files to find the important moments in the measurement.
Multimeter
The multimeter in the Multi Channel oscilloscope software turns your Handyscope into a multimeter can be used to measure or monitor specific properties of a signal, like True RMS value, frequency, maximum value etc. The Multi Channel oscilloscope software multimeter can have any number of fully configurable displays, either displaying the measured value as a number or using a gauge display. When using a gauge display, it can be very helpful when adjusting a circuit for a specific property, e.g. adjusting an offset to zero.
