To replace the original oil drain plug if the thread in the oil pan is damaged.

Use of the repair oil drain plug. The repair oil drain plug consists of two parts. The outer part is equipped with the original oil drain plug thread. The thread is slightly conical, which ensures a firm and tight connection, even with damaged oil pan thread. This connection does not have to be opened at later oil changes. From now, oil is drained on the small central screw. A small supply of commercially available copper or O-rings for later oil changes is already included.

Note this sump plug is not oversize but the treads are slightly conical so in many cases it will tighten well even if treads are slightly damaged in the sump
But not if the treads in the sump are completely missing or the sump plug hole is gone to big
